FAQ

Clear answers for parents who want to move forward with confidence.

These are the questions parents ask when they are deciding, comparing, and trying not to miss a step. The answers below keep the process clear.

Getting Started (Action First)
How do I start enrollment?

Begin by submitting your parent-choice request so your preference for PDC100 is on record first. Next, complete your documents, then move forward with district enrollment.

Do you offer tours before enrollment?

Yes. We encourage families to tour the center before enrolling. It’s the best way to see the classrooms, meet the staff, and feel confident in your decision.

Can I ask questions before submitting forms?

Yes. We encourage you to ask questions before submitting anything. Clear answers help you avoid delays and make sure your forms are completed the right way the first time.

What happens after I submit my forms?

After your forms are submitted, we review everything and confirm your information. From there, you continue through the remaining enrollment steps with your parent-choice request already on record and your documents already in place. That helps reduce delays and confusion.

Still deciding?
Start with your parent-choice request so your preference is clearly on record before anything else.
Availability & Fit (Decision Stage)
Is there space available right now?

Openings can vary by age group and timing. When families are serious, the best move is to submit the parent-choice request and documents right away so the process is already moving while availability is being reviewed.

What ages do you serve?

We serve children ages 2.5 to 5 years old. Children must be turning 3 years old by October 31 of the current school year to enroll.

How long does enrollment take?

The timeline depends on how quickly forms are completed and reviewed. Submitting Step 1 and Step 2 correctly helps keep the process moving and avoids unnecessary back-and-forth.

Ready to see if this is a fit?
The best next step is to start Step 1 now. You can still ask questions and confirm details after your request is submitted.
Daily Experience (Trust & Visualization)
What is a typical daily schedule?

Each day follows a consistent routine to help children feel secure and focused. A typical day includes structured learning time, center-based play, meals/snacks, rest time, and outdoor play. This balance of routine and activity helps children build confidence, social skills, and early learning habits.

How do you support learning and development?

We use a structured, research-based approach to support each child’s growth. Our classrooms follow the Creative Curriculum for Preschool, with guided activities, hands-on learning, and consistent routines that support the whole child. We also use early screening and observation to understand each child’s development and provide the right support at the right time.

How are children supervised throughout the day?

Children are supervised throughout the day by trained staff in a structured classroom environment. Teachers stay actively engaged, and classroom cameras add another layer of visibility and accountability.

Want to see the environment in person?
See the classrooms, meet the staff, and move forward with more confidence.
Communication & Support (Reassurance)
How do you communicate with parents?

We keep communication open and consistent so you’re always informed. We communicate through phone, messages, and in-person conversations, along with classroom updates using tools like ClassDojo and Google Classroom. We also provide regular parent-teacher conferences, newsletters, and opportunities to speak with teachers at any time.

Do you help with the district enrollment process?

Yes. We help families understand the district registration process after the parent-choice request and documents are completed so fewer steps get missed.

Logistics (Final Details)
What are your hours of operation?

Our preschool is open from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The free program runs from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM. Care before 8:15 AM and after 3:15 PM is available, though it is not part of the free program and may require 4C’s assistance or out-of-pocket payment.

Are meals or snacks provided?

Yes. Children are provided with breakfast, lunch, and a snack as part of the daily schedule. We also follow a peanut-free policy and food guidelines to support the health and safety of all children.

What should my child bring on the first day?

Please bring a change of clothes, any required documents, and any personal items your child may need, including a sheet or blanket for rest time. All items should be clearly labeled with your child’s name.

Where can I find district calendar information?

You can find the district calendar through Paterson Public Schools on their website or by contacting the district directly for the most up-to-date information.
